Should We Be Celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

I came across this last year and found it very thought provoking. Just happened to stumble upon it again and wanted to share. I’ve seen Fran Visco speak a few times and think she’s a very real, smart woman. 

We at Rethink have a lot of fun stuff going on for Breast Cancer Awareness month—Boobyball, our new smart-phone app, cute pink products to buy to support us. We also have launched some important and powerful projects, like our touching, inspiring and meaningful feature documentary About Her. Our programs staff is working very hard because there’s been huge demand for our Peer Support program that matches newly diagnosed young women with a survivor who has been there and can offer support. It’s clear that too many women continue to have to face this dreaded disease.
