100th Blog Post: Back To School

Picutred: MJ DeCoteau, Executive Director of Rethink Breast Cancer

Back to school; back to reality. And that can be a good thing! It’s sad to say bye to summer but even years after graduating, I feel a bit of excitement this time of year. After “summer hours” and maybe a little too much ice cream at the lake, our minds turn to getting back on schedule, making lists, buying supplies and being more productive. We think it’s also a good time to check in on your health routines.

Rethink wants your fall re-focusing to include giving your breast health a bit of attention too. Is it time for your annual physical? Maybe talk to your GP about a base-line mammogram. Are you eating right? Exercising? You might want to fit a spin class into your work week. These are just a few simple things to put on your list as you crack open your new “back to school” notebook. And, as summer ends, make sure your breast awareness isn’t banished along with your bikini. Keep showing your breasts some TLC and touch, look, check!

Rethink will be going “back to school” this fall with a campus outreach program that aims to get the TLC message to university and college students. We are recruiting students to act as campus ambassadors. If you’re a student with a passion for the breast cancer cause, contact us (mail to: hello@rethinkbreastcancer.com) and we’ll set you up with our cute and compelling TLC materials to distribute on your campus!
