Target Your Breasts

Breasts come in all sizes, shapes and colors. But, no matter what the size of your breasts, all women should take action to detect breast cancer early by following these three steps:

  1. Women should be aware of how their breasts normally look and feel, and report any breast change promptly to their health care provider (breast change can include lumps or thickening, puckering, nipple discharge or inflammation).

  2. Clinical breast examination at least every 3 years beginning at 20, and annually after 50.

  3. Annual screening mammography for women beginning by age 50 or earlier if you have a family history.
