The Rethink Rumble

Jian and Page Magen at last year's Rumble.
When thinking about a way to support one of my favourite charities I felt I had to be a bit different. I couldn't just go out there and do the same old black tie dinner that I have been doing for so long. Don’t get me wrong, I love those events. They are classy and always feel special. I just needed something that I can say I did that not only I felt great about but also I knew would be alarmingly unique and fresh. This is the foundation of what we have created with ‘The Rethink Rumble’. A one of a kind evening in support of Rethink Breast Cancer

What is the Rethink Rumble? It is an evening of bumps, bruises, laughs and theatrics all in one. Welcome to the world of professional wrestling! Some may say that today’s wrestling product is quite edgy and risqué, I actually agree. This is why we decided to do something a little more “old school”. Growing up as a kid in the 1980’s wrestling explosion I witnessed characters like ‘The Junk Yard Dog’ or ‘The Million Dollar Man’ or (one of my all time favourites) ‘The Bushwhackers’. These guys were a riot and didn’t need to resort to any offensive behaviour in order to get a rise out of the audience. It was when wrestling was pure. Where there was a moral backbone to every story line. The Rethink Rumble will be full of “old school” wrestling and will feature many of the heroes and villains I grew up watching. We wanted to bring people together, young and old, and watch wrestling at its finest. We have had such an overwhelming response from fathers emailing us saying how excited they are to take their kids to go see wrestling (most for the first time) to watch the same people that their father took them to see 25 years ago.

The show will take place this Thursday, the 17th, at The Factory which is located at 34 Futurity Gate (Dufferin and Steeles). Here is a sneak peak at the line up of wrestlers in attendance on this evening:

- Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiasi (WWE Hall Of Famer)
- Virgil (or course he will be there with Ted!!)
- Bushwhacker Luke
- The Native Indian Tatanka
- Dustin Diamond, AKA, Screech from TV’s Saved By The Bell… Making his Canadian wrestling debut!
- MANY MANY MORE!

Tickets for this event are $25 for general admission and $50 for a VIP ticket. This VIP ticket includes seating in either the first or second row and a special meet and greet with the wrestlers before the show. 100% of the profits from this event will be going to Rethink Breast Cancer.
