Help Young Women Live Laugh Learn

Debbie on the beach
Last December, I met Debbie James, a young woman in the midst of treatment for breast cancer. Originally from British Columbia, Debbie had little support while going through treatment in Toronto. She knew that she needed to find support but explained,

The support groups I found were mostly older women sitting around talking about having cancer. It didn't fit me in so many ways. I was desperate for a community – one where I felt understood. Rethink’s Live Laugh Learn was a perfect fit for me. At a time when life was so difficult, it was invaluable to find this kind of support.

Live Laugh Learn is a monthly education and networking program for young women in their 20s, 30s and early 40s who are living with and recovering from breast cancer. The "Style Up For The Holidays" gathering was particularly special for Debbie.

... I had one boob, no hair, and little hope. I had a date later that night. I know, starting chemo is a strange time to start dating someone! I wanted to try to look really good! The makeup artist worked her magic and I felt beautiful. And what’s more, the young women I met that night became true friends.

Stop searching for the perfect gift. This year, give a gift that really matters – a gift of community. Give now to support Rethink Breast Cancer and ensure that young women living with breast cancer have access to the people and resources they truly need.

Best Wishes for the Holiday Season.

Executive Director

P.S. A gift to Rethink Breast Cancer will directly affect the lives of young women with breast cancer. Ensure that women living with breast cancer get the support they need right now!
